At Melbourne University we're interesting in using Zeus, the magneto-hydro-dynamics code. Initially we are using it 'inhouse' for interests of various researchers. Later we may 'expose' it as in a remote job submission system.

Zeus-MP on linux

At Melbourne University we're interesting in using Zeus, the magneto-hydro-dynamics code. Initially we are using it 'inhouse' for interests of various researchers. Later we may 'expose' it as in a remote job submission system.

This page shows how to compile and run the code under linux and MPICH. We will make the modified source available to other linux users. If you are interested in getting Zeus MP going under linux, please contact me.

HowToCompile: notes on changes required for linux

RunningZeusTests: notes on how the tests went

How I went in creating new simulations:

  • UsingPointMasses
  • Eddies in FluidFlow
  • MagneticField - simulate matter falling through a pulsar's mag. field
  • NeutronStar - accretion

VariableSummary: list of variables in zmp_inp and zeusmp.f

If you're just looking for a quick and dirty way to get Zeus-MP running on your linux machine, I've attached by notes which should help you a lot.
